Half-Past

 When the minute hand is on 6, the time shows half an hour or 30 minutes.

 The minute hand moves halfway around the clock. It looks like half of a circle.

 Example : Look at the clock given below.

Here, the hour hand is between 12 and 1 and the Minute hand is on 6. So, the time is half

past 12 or 12: 30.

 Therefore half past twelve is the same as 12:30.

 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 can all be described as half past 1, half past 2, and half past 3.
