               Politics:


                   •  When one society waged war on another and conquered or was
                       conquered, social change was usually an immediate consequences.


                   •  Political forces have been the most important causes of social change.
                       For ex- history of warfare.


                   •  United states occupied and ruled over japan for several years bringing
                       lot of changes.


                   •  British’s  rule over India and Indian independence  did not only bring

                       about political change in the form of the end of British rule, it also
                       decisively changed Indian society.


                   •  Nepali people’s rejection of monarchy in 2006 political changes bring
                       about social change through re-distribution of power across different

                       social groups and classes.

                   •  Universal adult franchise- one person , one vote principle is the biggest

                       political change in history.


               Culture:

                   •  Changes in beliefs, ideas lead naturally to changes in social life.


                   •  Socio- cultural institution had enormous social impact i.e Religion.


                   •  Religious beliefs and norms have helped organise society. Changes in
                       these beliefs have helped transform society.


                   •  Max weber’s study ‘the protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism
                       showed how the religious beliefs of some Christian Protestant sects

                       helped to establish the capitalist social system.


                   •   It is the best example of the impact of cultural values on economic and
                       social change.
