TOPIC- Unit-7- Shapes Galore
Circle and Semi-circle
LEARNING OBJECTIVE- To identify, recognize and name different objects related to
circle and semicircle.
DISCUSSION-
• Recognize circle and semi-circular shapes around them.
• Real life objects such as bangles, plate, cello tapes, coins, bottle caps etc are round
and look like a circle.
• Objects such as rainbow, hand fan (Chinese fan), a slice of watermelon, etc. looks
like a semicircle.
• Identify and name more things in the surrounding that is of circle and semicircle.
• Folding a circle cut out and introduces the new shape i.e. a semi-circle.
• Activity- “My shape book”
• Take a circle cutout and fold it to a semi-circle to make an umbrella. Draw or paste a
stick and decorate it.
