Multiplying by 1000
• To multiply a number by 1000 or 2000, 3000, 4000 etc. we
simply put three zeros to the right of the product.
• Examples: 2 x 1000 =2000
5 x 1000 = 5000
3 x 2000 = 6000 ( 3 x 2 = 6 and three zeros )
9 x 3000 = 9 x 3 thousands
= 27 thousands
= 27000
