Multiplying by Hundreds

• To multiply a number by 100 or 200, 300, 400,……..900, we

simply put two zeros at the right of the product.

• Examples: 9 x 100 = 900

15 x 200 = 3000 ( 15 x 2= 30 and two zeros)

19 x 400 = 7600 ( 19 x 4 = 76 and two zeros )

33 x 300 = 33 x 3 Hundreds

= 99 hundreds

= 9900
