6.  Cause and Effect Relationship:  Management principles are based on cause and effect

                       that means these principles tell us if a particular principle is applied in a situation,
                       what might be the effect.

                   7.  Contingent:  Management  principles are contingent  or dependent  upon the situation
                       prevailing in organisation.







                      Significance/ Importance of the Principles of Management:  The importance of the

                      principles of management is mentioned below:

                   1.  Furnishing managers with beneficial insights: These principles of management help
                       in raising the managerial effectiveness by adding to their knowledge, skills and ability

                       to comprehend the various situations more equitably.
                   2.  Scientific  decisions:  Management  principles  assist  the  managers  in  taking  the

                       decisions that are based on the goal-oriented situation. Hence, the decisions taken are
                       certainly logical, unbiased and free from any sort of prejudices.

                   3.  Fulfilling social responsibilities: These principles of management are outlined in such

                       a way that they assist in fulfilling social responsibilities.
                   4.  Management training, education and research: These principles of management are

                       utilised as a basis for management training, education and research.


               Taylor’s  Principles  of  Scientific  Management:Scientific  management  involves  specific

               method of determination of facts through observation. The concept of scientific management
               was introduced by Frederick Winslow Taylor in the USA in the beginning of 20th century. It

               was  further  carried  on  by  Frank  and  Lillian  Gilbreth,  Henry  Gantt,  etc.  It  was  concerned

               essentially  with  improving  the  operational  efficiency  at  the  shop  floor  level.  “Scientific
               Management is concerned with knowing exactly what you want men to do and then see in

               that they do it best and cheapest way”. F.W. Taylor or Fredrick Winslow Taylor is also known
               as  the  „father  of  scientific  management‟  proved  with  his  practical  theories  that  a  scientific

               method can be implemented to management. Taylor gave much concentration on the supervisory
               level of management and performance of managers and workers at an operational level. Let‟s
