3.  Dehydration reaction-

               On heating ethanol at 443 K with excess of concentrated sulphuric acid, it results in
               thedehydration of ethanol to give ethenewith the liberation of water.

               The concentrated sulphuric acidacts as a dehydrating agent which removes water
               from ethanol.
