P. 6
Unit -2
Phonics - Long /a/ silent /e/ words
Learning objective: - Students will be able to learn the correct
pronunciation of the words the phonic way.
Explanation:
When there is a vowel/a/, then a consonant and
then a vowel /e/ at the end, there /e/ is silent and it
usually tells the vowel /a/ to say its name.
For example, like 'cap' and 'cape' explains that the
letter/e/ in the end of ‘cape’ is silent and it is also called the
magic /e/which makes the short vowel /a/ to say its
name and /e/ remains silent.
In Long /a/ silent /e/ words, there will always be a consonant
between letter ‘a’ and letter ‘e’.
Learning outcome: - Students can read, pronounce and write words
with long /a/ silent /e/.
