               ABOUT THE AUTHOR AND THE POEM(To be written in the Eng CW Notebook)

               The poet is the major contemporary Indian English writer and poet.

               He is the former Indian Police Service officer, who retired as the Additional Director
                in the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).

               He was awarded the Sahitya Academy Award, in 1984 for his poetry collection, The
                Keeper of the Dead, by the Sahitya Academy, India‟s National Academy of Letters.

               He was also awarded Padma Shri.

               The poem “In morning dew” by KekiDaruwall, is a beautiful piece created by him.

               In the poem, the poet talks about the scarecrow.

               The poem begins with a beautiful scene of the morning when the grass has
                beautiful diamonds of dew on them and how it attaracts the eyes.

               The poem „In Morning Dew‟, the poet tries to show the beauty of what lies around
                from the eyes of a scarecrow, which sees everything around him.


               We also see many things around us like the scarecrow but we fail to understand
                them many a time.


               We should not hesitate to ask about the things that we don‟t understand to our
                friends and our elders.


               Always remember, CURIOSITY leads to knowledge & thereafter, invention!!
