Page 4 - Lesson Note 4
P. 4

Example 1: 4 x 600

Step 1: Multiply the given non-zero number.

                                      4 x 6 = 24

Step 2: Insert two zero on the right of the product.

                                     4 x 600=2400

               Example 2: 40 x 600

               Step 1: Multiply the given non-zero numbers, 4 x 6 = 24

Step 2: Count zero present on the right side of the numbers, (40 x 600)

Step 3: Insert the number of zeros in the product on the right side.

                                     40 x 600 = 24000

Multiplication by the multiples of 1000,that is 2000, 3000, 4000……

               Example 1: 4 x 2000

Step 1: Multiply the given non-zero number.

                                      4 x 2 = 8

Step 2: Insert three zero on the right of the product.

                                     4 x 2000=8000

               Example 2: 40 x 2000

               Step 1: Multiply the given non-zero numbers, 4 x 2 = 8

Step 2: Count zero present on the right side of the numbers, (40 x 6000)

Step 3: Insert the number of zeros in the product on the right side.

                                     40 x 2000 = 80000
