TOPIC- Measurement

                 SUB-TOPIC- Capacity

LEARNING OBJECTIVE- To understand and compare the capacity

of containers using non-standard units and descriptive terms like full,
                 empty, more, and less.

                 DISCUSSION-
                    • Capacity is the amount a container can hold.

                    • Capacity is the ability of someone or something to hold
something. For example, capacity is how many people can fit in a
room or how much amount of water a cup can hold.

                    • A jug can contain more water than another jug. Therefore, the
capacity of a jug is more than a cup.

                    • When we compare the capacity of two objects, one object has
to be small and the other object has to be big.

                    Activity:

                    • Fill two different cups or bowls with grains or sand and observe
which one has a greater capacity.
                    • Use a spoon to fill a glass and a cup with water. Compare the

number of spoons of water each container can hold.

                 REVISION QUESTIONS (Oral)

                    • If you pour water into a jug and a small glass, then which one will

                        contain more water?
                    • If you keep your dresses in a suitcase and a handbag, then which

                        one will hold more dresses?
