STRUCTURE OF THE EARTH
Due to the process of formation of the Earth , it led to the
formation of three layers of the earth.
i)Crust - The outer most layer of the earth.
The coolest layer with plants and animals.
Mainly consists of rocks such as granite and
basalt.
ii)Mantle -It is just below the crust.
It is a hot layer made of rocks, minerals and metals,
such as iron.
Its temperature increases with depth.
iii)Core- It is just below the mantle.
It is divided into inner core and outer core.
Inner core is a solid ball of iron and outer core
is molten iron.
Inner core temperature is 4000 degree C.
