Rule 4: When a helping verb is used with a main verb, the

subject should agree with the helping verb. The main verb
          remains in its base form.

Examples: The man does not play golf. The men do not play golf.

(Singular Subject + Verb) (Plural Subject + Verb)

Rule 5: Compound words formed using singular nouns are

singular in number. So, they take singular verbs.

Examples: Each boy gets a trophy for playing.

                          (Singular Subject) (Singular Verb)

                                           Somebody plays guitar at night.
