Rule 4: When a helping verb is used with a main verb, the
subject should agree with the helping verb. The main verb
remains in its base form.
Examples: The man does not play golf. The men do not play golf.
(Singular Subject + Verb) (Plural Subject + Verb)
Rule 5: Compound words formed using singular nouns are
singular in number. So, they take singular verbs.
Examples: Each boy gets a trophy for playing.
(Singular Subject) (Singular Verb)
Somebody plays guitar at night.
