Exceptions: The pronouns ‘I’ and ‘You’ represent singular form but take
a plural verb.
I read a book before going to bed.
Singular Subject Plural Verb
You look gorgeous in this dress.
Rule 1: When two subjects are joined by ‘and’, it indicates a
plural subject. Therefore, the verb used in this sentence
should be plural.
Examples: My father and uncle work in a school.
