                       varieties: Apisceranaindica      (Indian
                       bee),  Apisdorsata  (Rock  bee),  Apis

                       florae (Little bee)

                   2.  Exotic     varieties: Apis     mellifera
                       (Italian  bee),  Apisadamsoni  (South

                       African bee)
                     A.  Mellifera  is  domesticated  in  India

                       on large scale because of its following advantages:
                          o  High honey collection capacity.

                          o  They reproduce fast.

                          o  They sting less.
                          o  They stay in a beehive for long.



                     The quality depends upon the following factors:

                      1.  Pasturage or the kind of flowers availableto the bees to collect the nectar and
                          pollen grains.
