Advantages of Composite culture:
1. These fishes do not compete for food.

2. The food available in all the part of the pond is used.
3. Six different types of fishes are reared together.

4. It gives very high yield.
Disadvantages of composite culture

1. Many fish breed only in the rainy season so hormonal stimulation has to be

given.
2. Good quality seeds (i.e.- organisms used for reproduction) are not available.

Blue Revolution
Increase in the production of fish, shellfish, prawns, crabs and shrimps through culture

fishery has brought a revolution. This revolution in fish food is called Blue Revolution.

Bee keeping

 The act of rearing, raising and caring of honeybee on a large scale to obtain
honey and wax from them is called apiculture.

 Bee farming is performed in bee farms or apiaries. Many farmers perform

beekeeping as a means of generating additional income because:
1. Honey is a widely used product

2. Bee farming is not very expensive
