Structure of a Seed
•A typical seed consists of the following parts:
SEED COAT :
The outer covering of the seed is known as seed
coat that protects the embryonic part .
COTYLEDON:
The two fleshy parts which stores the reserve
food is called cotyledons. They provide a source
of food for the developing embryo during
germination.
EMBRYO :
Seed contains a baby plant called an embryo.
Embryo consists of a tiny root called radicle and
tiny shoot called plumule.
