Structure of seed
The outer covering of the seed is known as seed coat.
The two fleshy parts which stores the reserve food is called cotyledons.
Seed contains a baby plant called an embryo.
Embryo consists of a tiny root called radicle and tiny shoot called plumule.
Some plants have two cotyledons. These plants are called dicot seeds. For examples :
