  Structure of seed


                 The outer covering of the seed is known as seed coat.
                 The two fleshy parts which stores the reserve food is called cotyledons.
                 Seed contains a baby plant called an embryo.
                 Embryo consists of a tiny root called radicle and tiny shoot called plumule.















                    Some plants have two cotyledons. These plants are called dicot seeds. For examples :



















                  Rajma Seed                              Gram Seed                            Pea Seed


                    Some plants have one cotyledon. They are called monocot seeds. For examples:
