PLAQUE
• Plaque is a sticky substance that develops on
teeth.
• Plaque develops when foods containing
carbohydrates such as milk ,soft drinks, cakes or
candy are frequently left on the teeth.
• The bacteria in plaque feed on these left over food
particles and produce substances called acid which
attack the enamel. Repeated attacks by the acid will
cause damage of enamel resulting in CAVITY.
• Tooth cavity may affect dentine and finally the
pulp.
