Learning Objective: Children will learn about the different pronouns that are
used in place of a noun.
PERSONAL PRONOUNS
Things to remember:
SINGULAR SUBJECT OBJECT
First person I Me
singular
Second person You You
singular
Third person He, She, It Him, Her, It
singular
Example: I told you that she is very lazy.
In the above sentence ‘I’ is first person singular pronoun
‘You’ is second person singular pronoun
And ‘She’ is third person singular pronoun
PLURAL SUBJECT OBJECT
First person plural We Us
Second person plural You You
Third person plural They Them
Example: We told you that they are very naughty.
In the above sentence ‘We’ is first person plural pronoun
‘You’ is second person plural pronoun
And ‘They’ is third person plural pronoun
POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS
Let'srevise what is Subject pronoun. A Subject pronoun takes the place of
a noun as the subject of a sentence.
For example:
The children drank water.(Here the Subject is”The children”).So instead of
“The children” we can write They drank water.”They” is Subject Pronoun.
Possessive pronouns show ownership or belonging.For example:
mine,yours,his,hers,ours,theirs.
