Subtraction with borrowing - Step 1

Now we have to start subtraction.
                                         13

                       H T O
                       7 5 3

                  – 3 7 8

Starting from ones-place column, as 3 is smaller than 8, so

       1 ten = 10 ones is borrowed from tens-place column. Now, ones-place
       column value is 10 ones + 3 ones = 13 ones. 13 > 8. So, we can easily

       subtract 13 ones – 8 ones = 5 ones. We have to write 5 under ones-place
       column.

As we have borrowed 1 ten from Tens-place column so now in Tens-
          place Minuend has become 5 tens – 1 ten = 4 tens.

                                                                   4 13

                                                          H T O

                                                          7 5 3

                                                    – 3 7 8

                                                                                5
   1   2   3   4   5   6   7   8   9
