LP 3 – Relation between addition and subtraction
Learning objective: The students will be able to understand the
relation between addition and subtraction and apply in problem
sums.
An inverse operation is an operation that reverses the effect of
the original operation. Addition and subtraction are inverse
operations.
For example: 6 + 2 = 8
By inversing the operation, we can write either
8 – 6 = 2 or 8 – 2 = 6
Learning outcome: The students were able to understand the
relation between addition and subtraction and apply in problem
sums.
LP 4 – Subtraction story problem
Learning objective: Students will be able to apply the knowledge of story
problems in real life context and frame statements based on a given
number sentence involving subtraction.
Subtraction means to take away. The keywords or hints to identify
whether it is subtraction story problems are: take away; how many more;
how many less; how many left; greater; smaller, how many remains,
rest, etc.
