Long Division without remainder (3-digits number by 1-digit number)

Learning objective: Students will be able to divide 3-digit numbers by
                     a 1-digit number.

 We follow certain steps to solve long division.

                         Example: Divide 682 ÷ 2=?

 Step 1: Start by writing your division problem in the long division
form under HTO column. First start with the Hundreds place.
                         Divide 6 by 2.

 Step 2: Multiply and write the 3 on top, as quotient, and write
the product of 3 and 2 below the 6.

 Step 3: Subtract the product from our digit in the dividend (6) to get

                         the difference.

 Step 4: Bring down the next digit from the Tens place. Again,

repeat the step 1. Divide 8 by 2. Write 4 above the dividend under

the Tens place. Subtract 8 – 8= 0. Bring down the next digit from

the Ones place. Divide 2 by 2. Write 1 above the dividend under

the Ones place. Subtract 2 – 2= 0. As there is no more number left

to bring down. We got our quotient which is 341.
