LP 3 – Number names
Learning objective: Students will be able to recognize and read number names.
• Everything in the world has a name. Similarly, the numbers in mathematics also
have a name. Every number can be written with either digits or words. Example:
1 or One
• Example : The number names of :
1 - One 11 - Eleven
2 - Two 12 - Twelve
3 - Three 13 - Thirteen
100 - One Hundred 1000 - One thousand
Learning outcome: Students will be able to recognize and read number names and
frame numbers.
LP 4 – Place value and Face value
Learning objective: Students will be able to read, write and represent numbers
as well as identify the place value and face value of a digit in a number.
Place Value: The value of where a digit is in the number.
Example: 1) In 253, 5 is in the 'tens' place, so its place value is 5 tens or 50.
2) In 937, 9 is in the 'hundreds' place. So, its place value is 9 hundreds
or 900.
