LP 3 – Number names

Learning objective: Students will be able to recognize and read number names.

             • Everything in the world has a name. Similarly, the numbers in mathematics also
have a name. Every number can be written with either digits or words. Example:
                 1 or One

             • Example : The number names of :
                 1 - One 11 - Eleven

                 2 - Two 12 - Twelve
                 3 - Three 13 - Thirteen
                 100 - One Hundred 1000 - One thousand

Learning outcome: Students will be able to recognize and read number names and
          frame numbers.

LP 4 – Place value and Face value

Learning objective: Students will be able to read, write and represent numbers
as well as identify the place value and face value of a digit in a number.

 Place Value: The value of where a digit is in the number.

Example: 1) In 253, 5 is in the 'tens' place, so its place value is 5 tens or 50.

                        2) In 937, 9 is in the 'hundreds' place. So, its place value is 9 hundreds
                 or 900.
