P. 2

• The Abacus is a calculating tool used for understanding number and
             number systems.

             • We represent the numbers on abacus with the help of beads.

             • Example: 234 H T O

                                                                          2 3 4

Learning outcome: The students were able to identify numbers on abacus.

LP 2 – Hundreds, Tens, Ones

Learning objective: The students will be able to write the hundreds, tens and ones
         numbers in their numeric form.

To make larger numbers we use a number system that has place values. Such as
                    a. Tens and ones: For two digit number we need tens place and ones place.

                        As we know 10 ones = 1ten.
                    b. Hundreds: For three digits number we need hundreds, tens and ones
place values. As we know 10 ones= 1 ten and 10 tens = 1 hundred.
Representing Hundreds, Tens and ones in block:

Hundreds block Tens block Ones Block

Learning outcome: The students were able to write the hundreds, tens and ones
         numbers in their numeric form.
