4. If the adjective ends with ‘y’, you change the “y” to an
“i” and add –er or –est.
Example – Happy --- happier --- happiest
Funny --- funnier --- funniest
5. Adjectives with two or more syllables, ‘more’ is used for
comparative form and ‘most’ is used in the superlative
form.( Syllable- It usually has a vowel in it.)
Example – Important --- more important --- most
important
Beautiful- more beautiful- most beautiful
6. Some comparative and superlative adjectives do not
follow any rule. These are known as irregular adjectives.
Example – Good --- better --- best
Many --- more --- most
