Patterns of Social Inequality and Exclusion
Social Exclusion refers the combined outcome of
deprivation and discrimination, which prevent
individuals or groups from participating fully in the
economic, social and political life of the society in
which they live. Social exclusion is structural i.e, the
result of social processes and institutions rather
than individual action.
Patterns of unequal access to
social resources are commonly
called social inequality.
Social Stratification refers to society's
categorization of its people into groups
based on socioeconomic factors like
wealth, income, race, education, gender,
occupation, and social status, or derived
power (social and political)
