                         Ester [R/H-COO-R’]–

               o  Esters are a functional groupwhere they are characterized by a carbon bound to
                   three other atoms:

                   Asingle bond to a carbon,
                   Adouble bond to an oxygen, and
                   Asingle bond to an oxygen.

                   The singly bound oxygen is bound to another carbon.
