                     Functional group-

               In organic chemistry, functional groupiseither one atom or a group of atoms, within a
               molecule, that isresponsible for the characteristic chemical properties of that
               molecule.

                The same functional group will undergo the same or similar chemical reaction
               regardless of the size of the molecule.





































               o  Carboxylic acid [R/H-COOH]–


               There  are  a  number  of  functional  groups  that  contain  a  carbon-oxygen  double
               bond (-C=O),which is commonly referred to as a carbonyl.
