                     Synthetic Detergent (detergent)-
               Detergents are the sodium salts of a long chain benzene sulphonic acid or a long
               chain alkyl hydrogen sulphate.
               Most of the detergents have C 8 to C 12 hydrocarbon chains (a non-polar group) and a

               polar group (SO 3/SO 4) Na .
