P. 5

Since the numbers here are arranged in increasing order, this is

called ascending order. 11 is the smallest number in the group.

50 is the largest number in this group.

Some more, real-life examples where we see ascending order

               are-

               Climbing up stairs.

Raising the speed of the vehicle.

Standing in a line in assembly.

Learning objectives: Children can compare numbers and objects
and arrange in ascending order. Also they can give more

examples where ascending order is used.

               Lesson 4.Descending order.

Learning objectives: Children will learn to compare numbers and

objects and arrange them in descending order.

Descending order- Descending order means arranging from the

largest to the smallest, biggest to smallest, higher to lower etc.

Ex: 05, 09, 02, 01(here all numbers are single digit numbers)

               Ans- 09, 05, 02, 01

               Ex: 18, 6, 11, 8

               Ans- 18, 11, 8, 6

Ex: 17, 11, 19, 13 (all numbers have 1 in tens place, so we will

see the tens place before arranging from big to small)

               Ans: 19, 17, 13, 11
   1   2   3   4   5   6
