Greater than

When the number on the left side is

greater than the number on the right side

,we use greater than symbol (>).

Ex- 96 > 89

Here in this example 96 comes after 89 while

counting,so 96 is greater than 89.

Another way to compare is by compairing tens, here

in 96 there is 9 tens and 6 ones and in 89 there is

8 tens and 9 ones . So the number that has more

tens is greater. Hence 96 is greater than 89.
