Properties of whole numbers: The properties of whole numbers are based on arithmetic
operations such as addition, subtraction, division and multiplication on numbers.
Closure Property :
Let us say 5 and 10 are two whole numbers, then 5 × 10 = 50 is also a whole number or 5 + 10 = 15
is also a whole number.
Sum of any two whole numbers the result is always a whole numbers.
Product of any two whole numbers the result is always a whole numbers.
we conclude that whole numbers are closed under addition and also
under multiplication.
Are the whole numbers closed under division?
Let us find : 8 ÷ 2 = 4 (4 is a whole number).
Let us find: 8 ÷ 16
8
=
16
