History of Transportation

Ø Transportation mean movement of people or goods from one place to
another.
Ø The invention of wheel which was a revolutionary step in the history of
transportation which led to the development of carts.
Ø The invention of steam engine was the next major breakthrough in the field of
transportation.
Ø Another revolutionary step in the history of transportation was the invention of
aeroplane by Wright Brothers.
Ø Today several different modes of transport are available for our travelling
needs and these include cycle, bike, auto-rickshaw, car, bus, train and
aeroplane.

Milestones in the History of Transportation
1. Invention of the Wheel
• The wheel is one of the greatest inventions in human history.
• It made the development of carts possible.
• This revolutionized how goods and people were moved over land.
