               Paragraph-1

Child Ashtavakra returned home after playing with his friends .He
asked his mother “Oh mother ! Where is my father?” She said ,”Oh son

! Your father has gone to the assembly of Rajarshi janak for a
shastrartha (political debate) with learned people but hasn’t returned
yet. I am also feeling anxious. Listening this Astavakra said, “Oh!

Mother ! Do not worry. Early tomorrow morning , I will go to the king’s
assembly to find out what has happened . His mother replied,”You are

just a child .It will not be easy for you to enter the assembly .It is also
possible that they may mock you there.’’ Then Ashtavakra , a genius

and well versed in the sashtras , said “Oh mother! Do not be afraid. No
matter what happens , I will return soon with father.”
               Paragraph-2

After obtaining permission from his mother, Ashtavakra entered the
king's assembly. Upon entering, he humbly bowed to the king. When

the learned men saw his deformed body, they began to laugh loudly,
thinking, “This child will engage in a debate with us?” They exchanged

smiles, underestimating him. Observing their reactions, Ashtavakra
started to laugh heartily, demonstrating his confidence in the face of
               their mockery.

               Paragraph-3

Upon seeing Ashtavakra laughing, the learned men in the assembly
were taken aback. The king asked him the reason for his laughter.
Ashtavakra replied, "Oh king, I had heard that your assembly was filled

with learned individuals who truly know themselves and understand
the mysteries of the scriptures. However, upon entering, I see these

so-called learned men laughing at my bent body. I, too, laugh in
               response to their ignorance."
