LN-Aquatic food chain
Expected Learning Outcome: The students will be able to develop scientific
thinking and creativity in themselves. They will be able to understand the concept
of the food chain of aquatic animals. They can easily relate the producer and the
consumer.
Explanation-An aquatic food chain is a food web that describes the feeding
relationships between organisms in an aquatic environment.
Producers
These organisms make their own food using the sun's energy through
photosynthesis. Examples include algae, phytoplankton, aquatic plants, and
cattails.
Primary consumers
These organisms eat the producers. Examples include zooplankton, small fish,
and crustaceans.
Secondary consumers
These organisms eat the primary consumers. Examples include fish, small sharks,
corals, and baleen whales.
Top predators
These organisms are at the top of the food chain. Examples include large sharks,
billfish, dolphins, toothed whales, and large seals.
