Types of Polynomial based on number of terms:
                   • Monomial

                   • Binomial
                   • Trinomial
                   • Quadrinomial

Types of polynomials on the basis of degree

The highest value of the power of the variable in the polynomial is the degree of the
               polynomial.
                  I. Linear Polynomial- (having degree one)

                       Standard form: ax + b, where a≠ 0 .

                                                Ex- 2x-3

II. Quadratic Polynomial- (having degree two)

                                               2
                               Standard form: ax + bx + c, where a≠ .
                                                 2
                                                      Ex- 5x +7x + 9

III. Cubic Polynomial- (having degree three)
                       Standard form- ax + bx +cx + d, where a≠ 0 .
                                           3
                                                 2
                                                  2
                                            3
                                             Ex- 5x + 7x +3x +1

                                                         2
                                              4
                                                   3
                            Standard form- ax + bx + cx + +dx +e, where a≠ 0 .
                                                   2
                                        4
                                         Ex- 9x + 6x + 3x + +8x +5
                                             3
