Pollination
Pollination is the act of transferring pollen grains from the male part of the
flower, i.e. anthers to the female part of the flower, i.e.stigma for fertilization.
Types of Pollination
There are two types of pollination:
1. When pollen from the anther gets transferred to the stigma of the same
flower or another flower of same plant it is called self-pollination.
It occurs only in bisexual flowers.
(a) Self-pollination
2. When the pollen from the anther of one flower get transferred the stigma
of another flower of a different plant of the same kind, it is called cross-
pollination.
It occurs in both bisexual flowers as well as unisexual flowers.
