CONCAVE MIRROR
The spherical mirror whose reflecting surface is curved inwards.

     Image Formation by Concave Mirror
The image is formed by concave mirror in two ways
 When an object is near, the image is virtual, upright and enlarged.
 When an object is far, the image is real and inverted. Also, smaller in size.

     Uses of Concave Mirror
 It is used as shaving mirror and dentist mirror because it gives an enlarged, upright and
virtual image of the object close to it.
 It is used in torches and head lamps of cars as reflector as the beam of light will
converge and focus in forward direction after the reflection.
 It is used in reflecting type of telescopes

     Suggested Activity

1.Take a concave mirror and mount it on a stand. Place a lighted candle in front
of the mirror. Place a white screen on the other side of the candle (the candle
acts as the object). Adjust the white screen in such a way that the light of
the candle falls on it after reflection. Now observe the type of image formed
by changing the position of the mirror.
     2. Identify the convex mirror around you.
