Convex mirror:
A mirror whose reflecting surface curves outwards is called convex mirror.
 Convex mirror is also called as diverging mirror as it diverge parallel beam of rays falling on it.
 The focus of a convex mirror is virtual because light rays do not actually passes through it.

NATURE OF IMAGE FORMED BY A CONVEX MIRROR:
 The nature of image formed by a convex mirror is always virtual, erect and diminished in
                    size.

POSITION OF OBJECT POSITION OF IMAGE NATURE OF IMAGE
When object is placed very far At focus, behind the mirror Virtual, erect and
from mirror (at infinity) diminished in size
At any other position(between Between pole and focus, Virtual, erect and
pole and infinity) behind the mirror smaller in size

     USES OF CONVEX MIRRORS:
 Used as a rear view mirror in vehicles such as cars, buses and trucks etc.
 Installed in shops to check theft.
 Installed at the corners to get view of area which are not directly accessible.
 Used in street light as reflectors to illuminate a larger area.
