Lok sabha:
• It is also known as the Lower House of the Parliament.
• The term of Lok Sabha is 5years.
• The members are directly elected by the people of India.
• The maximum strength is 552 members at present. Out of these two members
are nominated by the President.
• Only Indian citizen of 25 years of age or above can become members of the Lok
Sabha.
• The Speaker conducts the proceedings of the House.
• The Leader of the majority party becomes the Prime Minister.
Rajya sabha:
• It is known as the Upper House of the Parliament.
• Its members are not directly elected by the people of India.
• Maximum strength of the House is 250 members.
• 12 Members are nominated by the President for their contribution in the field
of literature, science, sports, arts and social service.
• The remaining 238 members are elected by the members of the state
Legislative Assemblies.
• The term of the members of Rajya Sabha is 6 years.
