Khilafat Movement:
• The British made Caliph sign a treaty which took away his powers. The
Caliphs were respected by the muslims across the world.
• The actions of the British made the Muslims angry causing them to
organise protests.
• They started Khilafat Movement which demanded that the powers of
the Caliph should be given back to him.
Non-cooperation Movement:
• Gandhiji started the Non-cooperation Movement against the British in
1921.
• The protest grew violent and on one such occasion an angry mob burnt
down
