Mahatma Gandhi:
• He was born in 1869, in Porbandar, in Gujarat.
• He fought against the British using the principles of Satyagraha which
were based on truth and non-violence.
• he tried to abolish the practise of untouchability.
Jallianwala Bagh Massacre:
• In 1919, the British introduced the Rowlatt Act.
• on 10 April 1919, many Indians assembled for a peaceful meeting, to
protest against the Rowlatt Act.
• GeneralDyer, an officer of the British Army, blocked the only exit of the
Jallianwala Bagh and ordered his men to open fire at the crowd.
