 Currently, there are more than 2,500 man-made satellites orbiting the earth. Most of these
are of Russian origin. You may wonder why none of these satellites collides with each
other, considering the volume.
 Types of Man-made satellite are
1) Weather satellite: these are used to monitor the weather pattern and climatic
condition of Earth. they can also help in predicting storms, cyclone, heavy rainfalls
etc. effects of pollution of region can also be determined by using these satellites.

2) Communication satellite: these satellites are used in transmitting radio, television,
telecommunication, internet signals between different places on Earth.

3) Navigation satellite: these satellites provide information about the exact location.
Now a days, we frequently use this technology in our cars and smart phones with
the help of GPS to locate places.

4) Military satellite: these satellites are specifically designed for militarily purposes
they help surveillance, research, communication, navigation and other similar
military activities.
