GIRDLES IN HUMAN SKELETON
FUNCTIONS OF THE SKELETON:
The skeleton gives shape and support to our body.
Skeleton protects many delicate internal organs. For example, the skull
protects the brain, the ribcage protects the lungs and the heart, and the
spine protects the spinal cord.
Skeleton provides numerous points for attachment of muscles. Thus, help in
the movement of our body.
Some bones have a spongy tissue inside them, called the bone marrow.
This tissue produces new blood cells.
