                                           GIRDLES IN HUMAN SKELETON

                FUNCTIONS OF THE SKELETON:

 The skeleton gives shape and support to our body.
 Skeleton protects many delicate internal organs. For example, the skull
protects the brain, the ribcage protects the lungs and the heart, and the
                   spine protects the spinal cord.

 Skeleton provides numerous points for attachment of muscles. Thus, help in
                   the movement of our body.
 Some bones have a spongy tissue inside them, called the bone marrow.
This tissue produces new blood cells.
