• 1. Imagery-Imagery plays a major role in this

poem, the biggest role. The whole time he's

painting a picture for the reader of what the

man is doing and what he looks like, how he

feels about the little man. He talks about what

happens when he comes home late.

• 2. Hyperbole-You could say that the little man is

an exaggeration of his thoughts, feelings, and

what he actually sees. He writes about what the

little man does and where he goes, so he really

plays into the man who isn't there.
