About the poet:
• William Hughes Mearnes was an American poet
and educator. He had graduated from the
Harvard University and the University of
Pennysylvania. He encouraged natural creativity
of children between ages 3 to 8, and during his
time, this idea was pretty new.
• He was born in 1875 and died in1965.
