                       forty percent of the world's fuel is supplied by forests.


               Types Forests in India
               Evergreen forest –

                     Features- They have a variety of trees that do not shed leaves at the same
                       time and remain green whole year.

                     Areas- Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Tripura, slopes of Western
                       Ghats, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
                     Trees-Rosewood, sandalwood, teak, ebony, bamboo and mahogany.















               Deciduous Forests(Monsoon Forest)
                     Features- Deciduous means tending to fall off. Trees shed their leaves
                       annually, in these forests.

                     Areas- Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Karnataka,
                       Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

                     Trees- Teak, bamboo, sandalwood,sal and shisham.
               Thorn Forests (Desert Forests)

               Features- The trees of these forests are scattered and short.
               Areas- Rajasthan, parts of Gujarat and Punjab.

               Trees-Kikar, babul and date palm
