Lesson-14 Forests of India
Provide nuts, berries, fruits, rubber, gum, medicinal herbs,
and wood for different things.
Uses of forests
Shelter to wildlife and fodder to animals, hard& soft
wood , logs, fire wood etc .
Evergreen- found in areas that receive heavy rain fall.
Forests of Trees do not shed the leaves at a time

Deciduous - grows where monsoon rains drain the land.
Trees shed leaves anually.
Thorn forest- known as desert forest
Types forests The treesa are scattered , short and thorney.

Coniferous forest-found in cold mountaneous climate.
Tall, cone shaped trees with needle shaped leaves.
Tidal forest- mangroves found on the deltas along the
coasts.
Trees can survive both in fresh and salt water.
Summery
Forests- A large part of land covered with trees. Trees, bushes, shrubs, wildflower
and misses are part of the forest.
