MOVEMENTS OF EARTH - REVOLUTION
• The movement of the planet around the sun in a
fixed orbit is known as revolution.
• Earth also revolves around the sun.
• The equator is an imaginary line that divides earth
into two parts, that is Northern Hemisphere and
Southern Hemisphere.
• Due to the tilt of the Earth’s axis when the Earth
revolves around the sun, the North Pole is sometimes
closer to the sun and sometimes far from it.
• So when the North Pole tilts towards the sun it
receives more sunlight and experiences summer.
• The South Pole at this time receives less sunlight and
experiences winter season.
